Summer's here. Vacations are booked

May 04, 2026

Summer’s here. Vacations are booked. Dinners are later. Drinks are flowing. Schedules are… nonexistent.

And this is the time where most people quietly fall off. Not because they don’t care. Not because they’re lazy.

But because they’ve convinced themselves of one thing: “I’ll get back on track when I get home.”

That right there? That’s the problem. You Don’t Need to “Start Over” Every Time You Travel

Here’s the truth most people don’t want to hear: f your routine only works at home… it doesn’t actually work.

Because life isn’t lived in perfect conditions. There will always be:

Trips

Events

Late nights

Restaurants

So instead of pressing pause every time life happens…You need a version of your routine that travels with you. Build a “Vacation Version” of Your Routine. This is where everything changes. You’re not trying to be perfect on vacation. You’re trying to stay anchored.

That might look like: Keeping your eating window (even if it shifts a bit) Prioritizing protein at your first meal

Not grazing all day just because food is around. You don’t need to track everything. You don’t need to say no to every drink or dessert. But you do need some structure.

Because without it… Vacation turns into a free-for-all. And a few days turns into a few weeks.

Handle Restaurants Without Overthinking It. This is where most people spiral. Menus. Options. No plan.

So here’s how simple it can be:

Pick your protein first

Add vegetables

Be intentional with carbs, not automatic

That’s it.

No stress. No overanalyzing. You don’t need the “perfect” order. You just need a better one.

The “All or Nothing” Trap. This one gets people every summer. “I already had a drink… might as well go all in.” That mindset is what turns one choice into ten. Instead, shift it:  One drink? Fine. Enjoy it.

But that doesn’t mean the whole day is gone. You’re always one decision away from getting right back on track.

Vacation isn’t the problem. How you think about vacation is. If every trip becomes an excuse to stop taking care of yourself… you’ll keep starting over. But if you can go away, enjoy yourself, and still show up for a few key habits… That’s where things actually change.

If You’re Traveling Soon, Start Here. Don’t overcomplicate it. Just lock in a few non-negotiables:

Keep a loose eating window. Build your meals around protein Avoid mindless snacking. Drink water before anything else

That’s it. Not perfect. Not restrictive. Just enough to keep you moving forward

Because the goal isn’t to be perfect on vacation.
