Don't Ignore What You are Consuming Mentally
Apr 13, 2026Hey,
Most people think of spring cleaning as clearing out closets, organizing drawers, and getting rid of old clothes.
But if we’re being honest…
That’s not what’s keeping you stuck.
It’s not your closet.
It’s your kitchen.
Your habits.
Your routine.
We had a live Zoom session on this, and while not everyone made it, I wanted to share the core idea with you, because this is the kind of reset that can actually move the needle.
🌱 Spring Clean Your Life
If you feel like you’ve been a little off lately… this is where you start.
Not with another diet.
Not with more motivation.
But by clearing out what’s quietly working against you every day.
🧹 Start With Your Environment
Most people rely on willpower.
But willpower is unreliable.
Your environment? That’s predictable.
Take a look at your pantry and fridge.
If something is triggering overeating… it shouldn’t be sitting there staring at you every day.
This doesn’t mean everything has to be perfect.
But it does mean being honest about what’s helping you—and what isn’t.
Move better options to the front.
Push the problem foods out of sight (or out of the house entirely).
Because at the end of the day:
If it’s in your house, you will eat it eventually.
⏱️ Then Clean Up Your Habits
You don’t need a new plan. You need structure.
A lot of people feel stuck not because they don’t know what to do…
but because their days have no consistency.
Start simple:
Stick to your eating window.
Cut out the constant snacking and “little bites.”
Build your meals around what actually works:
Break-fast: protein, vegetables, real carbs
Dinner: protein and vegetables
That’s it.
The fewer decisions you have to make throughout the day…
the easier this becomes.
🧠 Don’t Ignore What You’re Consuming Mentally
We talk a lot about food, but what you take in mentally matters just as much.
Your social media.
The constant noise.
The comparison.
It adds up.
Take a few minutes and clean that up too.
Unfollow what’s not helping you.
Create space for better habits.
And don’t underestimate the role sleep plays in all of this.
Because if your mind is cluttered…
Your habits will be too.
🔁 The Part Most People Skip
This isn’t just about cleaning out your pantry or organizing your routine.
It’s about how you see yourself.
A lot of people walk around telling themselves:
“I have no discipline.”
“I always fall off.”
And then wonder why nothing sticks.
At some point, that has to shift.
You don’t need to be perfect.
But you do need to start seeing yourself as someone who takes care of yourself.
🎯 If You’re Not Sure Where to Start
Keep it simple.
Don’t try to overhaul everything at once.
Just do this:
Remove (or hide) 5 trigger foods tonight
Set your eating window for tomorrow
Plan your first break-fast meal
That’s your reset.
